It's Been a While...

Right before my last post, my assignment at my church changed and I'm in charge of the Young Women (the 12-18 year old girls in the area). It's an involved assignment and it's kept me pretty busy and when I'm not busy with that, I'm already busy with my family (I've got four kids!). So, anyway, that's why I haven't posted as much.

Also, as a side note, I've come to realize just how much my endometriosis is affecting me.  I was diagnosed with endometriosis 11 years ago (after aching for many years before that), but I figured it explained my painful, overwhelming, monthly, abdominal cramps and nothing else.  It hasn't gotten any better, and a couple months ago I realized that it might be affecting my whole body more than I'd thought.  And more that just one week a month.
I've told my family for a long time that I hurt the week before, the week of, and the week after my cycle for many years now. Turns out that's probably the endometriosis.  My nerves hurt all the way down my legs, under my knee caps and sometimes to my toes. That could be endometriosis, too. And sometimes I don't feel the cramps yet, but my emotions are all over the place (my brain knows it's coming even if I don't quite realize it) and I'll feel like a panic attack is coming on because it's hard and hurts to breathe. Endometriosis could be to blame yet again. I've been living with it for a long time, so I'm pretty good at mustering all my strength to ignore my pretend I don t have pain while in public. But honestly, when I'm at home I'm so exhausted. I'm emotional. It's hard.
(If you want more information on endometriosis, do a search on it and you'll find out it's pretty common and not fun).

So, I haven't had the umph to write blog posts lately or to publish my latest pattern (Square Owl Hat) on my Ravelry shop or Pattern Shop. It's published in Happily Hooked Magazine, but I've had exclusive rights to publish since January. I need to see if I can work on that soon.  The way things are going, I'll probably be able to finish up the PDF pattern in June! Maybe it will work out sooner. One can hope!

I also wanted to make note that Craftsy shut down my shop there.  I hadn't sold a single thing in one year on Craftsy, so I'm not sad. I guess it's not my niche! Also, my Etsy shop will be "on vacation" for the foreseeable future. I don't find that many people are looking for crochet patterns there and thanks to their fees, I can't offer "free" patterns for Free. So my best spots are right here on my website and on Ravelry (I love Ravelry!). These sites are where I can charge closer to actual amounts (everyone wants their cut!) and offer free patterns for free!

I occasionally get emails or comments for help with patterns, and I respond to those within 24 hours, usually! I haven't wanted to leave crocheters without my assistance, so I check my email regularly and respond as soon as possible. Continue to write to me with any questions!

So yes, Life continues to busier and busier. And I'm more and more tired!
