What a great tutorial and TOO CUTE little shoes! Now I just need to have a baby so I can make a closet full of these!
ReplyDeleteYou could make and donate to maybe the baby nursery at your local hospital or any resale shops for charity such as goodwill we have a resale shop the proceeds go to the childrens home donate directly to them in larger cities they probably get a lot of babies from abusive or neglectful parents. I've donated crocheted iems to the one I mentioned because of who the proceeds help they sell well too even if it's small items like these they make a little and every bit helps can you tell I used to volunteer not a children's home but troubled youth keep them busy and hopefully out of trouble
DeleteI wish I had another baby to make those for too!! They are adorable!
ReplyDeletedarling! thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteRight now I am wishing I knew how to knit. Might have to learn!

I love those! I just wish I knew how to crochet...
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! thanks for the tutorial!
ReplyDeleteYou make it look sooo easy that I just might give it a go...LOL! Thanks for the tutorial Anna!
ReplyDeletethese are so adorable & I am trying to make some for my cousin who is expecting a baby girl, however I have a question, is the peep space supposed to be off set or is it supposed to be centered? I have tried this pattern at least 7 times, but I just don't know why it doesn't look correct
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I think these are the cutest little baby sandals I have ever seen. Linking up at Tangled Happy tomorrow. Thanks for sharing this amazing pattern! :)
ReplyDeleteAnna, these are the sweetest little baby girl shoes!!! Thank you so much for sharing your pattern! ~tina
ReplyDeletewow..it's so cute..tq for sharing the pattern..
ReplyDeleteW33z13 and others:
ReplyDeleteI've noticed that sometimes the pattern gets offset (the peep is supposed to be in the middle of the shoe) when you don't do the first single crochet in the same space as where you did the slip stitch in the row below. I'm counting on you doing the single crochet in *that* space in my numbers. Hope that helps!
Hi Anna. Very happy to share your pattern at Tangled Happy and so happy you are a new follower. I really do love them! Wishing you a happy weekend. :)
ReplyDeleteHello, thanks for your generosity1
ReplyDeleteBut I would like to know the size.
I have a grandchild with four mo. and I'd like to make a pair for her.
Please, help me , because I am new on this art .
Granny Zizi
These are adorable! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteGranny Zizi:
ReplyDeleteA 4 inch shoe will fit a baby girl at about 0-3 months, and a 4.5 inch shoes will fit a baby girl who is 3-6 months. It really depends, though, on the little girl! Hopefully that's a little helpful, though!
I have had this pattern bookmarked for awhile. I finally sat down to make one, and it is soooo adorable! The other shoe will have to wait until tomorrow, but the first one is absolutely perfect. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern!
ReplyDeleteJamie,
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you made one! And that the other should be done by now! I'd love to see a pic of your creation - :) annavirginiafashion@gmail.com
I took about a week break, but I just finished the second one! It went much faster than the first. :0) Thanks again for the pattern! I will email you a pic as soon as I get them onto my little girls cute feet.
ReplyDeleteYay! I bet they are adorable! :) How old is your little girl?
ReplyDeleteShe's 6 months. :0) I FINALLY posted the pic. I haven't gotten them on her feet yet. I need to buy some ribbon! Can you tell I'm a procrastinator?
ReplyDeleteWhere's the picture posted? I bet they are adorable!
ReplyDeleteBetter late than never... It's posting today! I did post a pic of the shoes awhile back, but hadn't posted a pic of them on the baby. Thanks again for the pattern!!!
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks for posting the photo! They *are* adorable, and so is the little girl wearing them! And the post is awesome - babies are so kissable, I wish I could kiss them all the time. :)

Great blog! i love it so much, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIm having trouble with the insole instructions."attach to the inside of shoe with wrong sides facing each other" are these istruction in case of using different color yarns?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous:
ReplyDeleteThe instructions are basically to keep the fronts of the stitches facing outward. The backsides of the stitches will be sewn together. It isn't a very big deal, as most people don't see inside the shoe.
However, it is a sign of quality! The inside of your coats (or other tailored clothes) that have lining have the seams are sewn facing each other. This way,the nice fabric is what shows - whether you're looking at the outside of the coat or you happen to see the inside.
how would you make this bigger? I would love to try to make some for my 2 year old, but I am not sure about the increases to do so?
ReplyDeleteI have a two-year-old as well. I haven't made any for her, but I'm sure that those would be super cute, too! I think you'd need to add another round or two on the sole. And then the rest of the shoe would be all changed around as well.
DeleteOr... you could also try to crochet two strands of yarn and use a bigger hook and follow the same pattern. I have no idea what size that you give you, but it might work - and it would be a lot more simple....
I'd love to know what you try!
I might just try that. I will def let you know bc I think these are adorable and she would love to wear them around the house.

ReplyDeleteBaby Shoes
So cute! I linked to them on my blog this morning - http://www.mooglyblog.com/free-crochet-baby-booties-patterns/
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing your pattern!
Thanks so much for posting this pattern! I am new to the craft and made a dress and diaper cover from Youtube videos. I have had these shoes "pinned' for a while and decided to try them even though I have never really read a pattern before. (would have loved a video to follow, hint hint ;) The one I just did turned out just right! Thanks for the great instructions and pictures. I'm excited to make the other one tomorrow and send them off to my sister and her sweet baby. :)
ReplyDeleteShawna,
DeleteThanks for letting me know that it worked out! I've thought of making a video... but I think I'd feel so cheesy! But I'll see if I can take the hint. I would just need to figure out how to manage the camera (I suppose with a tripod) and my two energetic kids! Maybe I'll find a sitter someday and do that. LOL, it might be a while before it happens! :)
~Anna
I am new to crochet, but I am having trouble with round 5. What does sc 5 in sp. mean? Somehow I keep having more stitches than needed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your question!
Delete"sc 5 in sp" means this: Single crochet 5 times in space. The "space" is the chain 5 from the previous round (where you chain 5 and skip 6 stitches).
If you need a diagram or another picture, let me know. I'll see what I can do.
Hope that helps!
Thanks, I understand now! So cute!
DeleteThat's great! Glad it makes sense now! :)
DeleteLove your blog! I think I may be addicted to buying baby shoes for my little girl. They are so cute!
ReplyDeleteLol! Baby shoes are *so* cute! I don't blame you :)
DeleteI have looked everywhere for a good "dress up" slipper for my daughter! She is 3, toddler size 8 - I sized up to a K hook, added a few to the beginning chain and a round to the sole. I'm sure it's not perfect but I almost couldn't finish the first one cause she wouldn't take it off! So excited to make the other one, and so so happy I finally came across this pattern in my search this afternoon!
ReplyDeleteThat's great you were able to size it for her! I've been trying to make slippers for my three year old, and I forget every time how I did it before I can write it. And I love that she loved it so much that you almost couldn't finish! Cutie. :)
DeleteThank you so much for making this pattern available for free It's really adorable and I'm glad to be able to use it to make some booties for a good friend that's expecting a girl soon.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! I'm so glad that so many have been able to make use of it! And thanks for letting me know - makes my day to hear this!
Deleteyour pattern was pretty diffacult for me to follow I feel the opening for the toe was on the side and not directly over the toes.So i've decided not to use thus pattern even tho i like the bootie
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry it didn't work out for you! I've noticed that the toes can go off to the side if you don't do the start of each round just right. In my pattern, the first sc needs to go in the very first stitch. Some people accidentally do the ch 1, then sc in the next st. That will result in the toe being off centered.
DeleteIt is a slightly difficult pattern but if you'd like to try an easier one, this one is quite simple: http://annavirginiafashion.blogspot.com/2010/11/baby-flapper-girl-hat-pattern.html
Can we sell what we make from this pattern . Thank you
ReplyDeleteThanks for the question! This is from the statement at the top of this post: "Please do not sell or redistribute pattern as your own. Since I sell these shoes, please do not make them for personal profit."
DeleteI make these shoes to sell, and have provided a free pattern, so please don't make them to sell.
Thank you!
Hola me gustaria hacerlo pero se tejer con grafico
ReplyDeletereally creative & thanks for your tutorial.
ReplyDeletekelinci
Love love love and the name of them is just as cute as the booties. I'm starting these tonight I'm so tired already probably won't get much done I have to start them their adorable cutest I've seen and believe me I've been looking I have two to crochet for two of my kids are adding to their families I'm getting another girl and a boy a month apart already crocheted blankets for both now the fun stuff. Thank you these are the sweetest and I'm going to do the boys suggested on this page they are adorable as well. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI previously left a comment but I've read all comments now I think and want to ask you if it's alright to donate them to charity resale shop I wouldn't profit from the sale the proceeds go to our local children's home I've crocheted tons of mostly small things using my scrap yarn they tell me it sells well and keep bringing it. Let me know if that's ok thanks again these are so adorable and I definitely wouldn't take credit for your pattern I could pin a little tag on them with your site url.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally okay with you donating them! I need to update my blog to let everyone know that I just don't want them selling the pattern for profit. But you made the baby booties so go ahead and decide what you'd like to do with those!
